| Term | Meaning |

| Company | A tenant. Technically a Better Auth organization; its slug is the first URL segment |
| Slug | The short lowercase name used in a URL |
| CMS | The staff area at /company/cms |
| Staff | A member with the owner, admin, manager, employee or viewer role |
| Renter | A customer who rents from a company, optionally with an account (the customer role) |
| Item | A rentable thing with a price, a price unit and a stock quantity |
| Booking request | A public reservation in the requested status |
| Custom field | An extra field a company adds to items, customers or reservations |
| Override | A per-member replacement for a role's actions on one resource |
| Trial | The 14 days recorded when a company signs up |
